Ritsuko is a certified personal trainer, pilates instructor, nutrition expert, and has been the owner of Studio Luxé in NYC since 2013.
She started her fitness journey when she was in college as a competitive runner but her life as an athlete didn't last so long due to the injuries. After she retired from running, she was introduced to Pilates method as her new conditioning training that completely changed her life later on. She noticed Pilates drastically improved her body functionally and aesthetically without bulking up the unwanted muscles that could have been over-developed by wrong exercises. Soon, her recreational interest toward Pilates became a career option. Although Pilates was a great training method, it wasn't perfect or the most efficient for some people. So she studied and earned a certification for NCSF-PT and ACE's Weight Management Expert as supplements. After 5 years of training and teaching friends and coworkers, she finally opened Studio Luxé in NYC.
She has been providing a customized fitness service called the 8weeks intensive program, which helps her clients to obtain a "skinny muscular body" by using an unique 4 phases of diet and exercise routines during an 8 weeks period. Her program is based on the concept of peak performance method, which is commonly used by top athletes. She customize the programs for the clients with all levels by utilizing her strong background of molecular biology. The factors that she analyzes include a client's metabolic issues, nutritional statuses, energy levels, and hormonal changes, etc.
She believes that lean functional bodies are easily attained by a balanced diet and a mixture of resistance and endurance training but reducing the stresses and optimizing eating schedules are also key factors to achieve a successful transformation. For that reason, her program often includes a daily food journal to ensure that nutritional needs are met and the quality of life is improving.
